1. Adding the Right Pop-Up

Use the right pop-up and your conversion rate will soar

Pop-ups might sound like an outdated feature. The regular conversion rate for pop-up messages for affiliate marketing websites? About 3%, but we're aiming much higher here. Get this: According to a study by Sumo, you can reach about 9.28% just by finding the right hook.

Based on your audience, that can be anything.

If your audience is interested in generating a primary or secondary source of income from home (Thanks, COVID-19), an eBook on how to start investing online in coin pairs like the US dollar versus the euro or the Swiss franc versus the Japanese yen.

2. Remove Unnecessary Fields

Registration forms have one of the biggest annoyances your leads deal with on affiliate advertising platforms. This becomes an even bigger issue when you have too many form fields you wouldn't necessarily need to convert them into satisfied, paying customers.

More often than not, people tend to leave long registration fields and are never seen there again. Well, that might be a tad dramatic, but you catch our drift.

Make sure your form contains only the relevant fields such as your clients full name, country of residence, email address, and phone number. It's also advisable to ensure that your leads are +18 according to the services you're offering & financial or otherwise.

3. Testimonials and Reviews

Video testimonials alone have a whopping 95% in retention rate, whereas people can only recall 12% of the written information they gather online. Testimonials are a powerful thing, but have you ever stopped to consider why that is?

It has been proven in several psychological studies that people tend to follow the crowd because it makes them feel safe knowing others have already purchased a service.

In a study conducted by researcher Albert Bandura and his colleagues, 67% of the children, who were previously terrified of dogs, agreed to enter a playpen and play with a dog.

This teaches us that this mentality is ingrained in us, and the instinct of waiting to see what others do first is to help us “survive” certain situations.

4. Zero Distractions

Adding too many distracting features to your website could make your conversion rate drop

You may find yourself feeling tempted to add as many features as humanly possible, but that might prove to be a double-ended sword.

Bombarding your leads with advertisements on your website or blog can lead to sensory overload, which anyone in their right mind will run away from. The first may include too many pop-ups (just one per visit is enough, we swear!), videos that start playing automatically or changing banners above the fold of your page.

Make the layout easy on the eyes and get your target audience's attention by carefully incorporating your ads into the pages rather than layering them on thick.

5. Powerful CTAs

How many times have you come across a call to action (CTA) saying “Click Here!” or “Join Now!”? We’re pretty sure you’re just as tired of them as your leads are. A great CTA needs to excite your target about your promotion.

Keep it short and smart for the perfect combination, and Don’t be afraid to A/B test your CTAs for maximum effect. It’s also a good idea to try and think outside the box. Get creative with your buttons, and don’t forget to add a bit of urgency for good measure with words like “now”, “today”, or “here”.

6. It’s the Final Countdown

Use timers to encourage your leads to register ASAP

We’re going to let you on a little secret: Marketing is all about psychology, and affiliate advertising is no different.

One of the biggest factors in sales is whether your audience is feeling pressure to buy something. We like to think of it as the fear of missing out (FOMO, sounds familiar yet?). This is a common aspect of sales or promotions around major holidays such as Christmas time.

That’s where the running countdown timer on your homepage or one of your inner pages comes in handy. If your leads are under the impression that they might be missing out on the deal of a lifetime, they are that much more likely to go ahead and bit that clock.

7. Live Chat Vs. Robot

Sometimes, your leads might find themselves on the fence, trying to figure out whether your service is what they’re looking for. What they often need is to simply ask someone a few quick questions.

While a contact form is great for more complex questions, your audience might not be patient enough to wait 3 business days for your reply.

A robot or live chat are both amazing options in answering simple questions. Your potential clients can enjoy a quick reply is definitely an added bonus that many will appreciate. Even better, this type of feature is incredibly easy to add to your website and monitor.
